Skype Visit with Author Laura Rose Wagner!
When the earthquake in Haiti happened in 2010, Laura Rose Wagner, who was a student there at the time, found herself trapped in the rubble of a destroyed house. After being rescued and returning to the United States, she was asked to write about her experiences. What followed became a tale of two sisters who lose their mother in the quake and how they overcame impossible odds to be reunited. Go here and here to see a recording of the Redhawk Book Club's Skype interview with Dr. Wagner!
Skype Visit with Author Marissa Meyer!
On April 9, the Redhawks Book Club was fortunate to receive a cyber-visit from award-winning young adult author Marissa Meyer, the author of the Lunar Chronicles series, Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress. Our book club members got to ask Ms. Meyer all about her amazing characters, how she writes, what advice she has for teen writers, and whether or not we might see her stories on the big screen in the near future! You can watch the full recording HERE!
The Lunar Chronicles are based on fairy tales we all know and love - but with a twist. Cinderella is a cyborg, Red Riding Hood drives a space ship, and Rapunzel is not stuck in a tower but a satellite orbiting the moon!
We had a wonderful visit with award-winning author Zetta Elliott!
You can check out Zetta Elliott's books in the library!
